#FilOil2019: UST hold off La Salle Greenhills to go even

SAN JUAN -- Already eliminated from contention, UST evened their Group B record in the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup after fending off La Salle Greenhills, 72-67 in the lone juniors game played Friday evening at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

CJ Austria and Bismark Lina teamed up for the Tiger Cubs as they prepare for a showdown with unbeaten NU in their final Group B game, sending the Greenies to a free-falling end to their campaign.

Trailing in the middle quarters after leading at the end of the opening frame, UST roared back in the pay-off period to even their record at 2-2.

Austria led the Cubs with 20 points on an 8/12 shooting from the field, while the former Batang Gilas big man posted a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds as he added 2 steals and 3 blocks for a good measure.

RC Calimag was the lone bright spot from LSGH, but his game-high 23 points went for nothing as the NCAA powerhouse wrap up their stint in FilOil at 1-4.
