#FilOil2019: UST held off JRU for their first win in Juniors

SAN JUAN -- Third time's finally the charm for UST, as they get their first win of their Group B campaign in the Juniors division of the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup after defusing JRU, 74-70 Thursday morning at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

Slotman Bismak Lina showed the way for the Tiger Cubs as he powered them past the still-winless Light Bombers, leading all scorers with 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double.

Jethro Escoto had 13 points as he played all but six minutes for UST, who nearly blew their 24-13 first quarter lead but held their nerve for a wire-to-wire win.

Janwell Famarangco had 18 for JRU who lost their fourth straight game.
