SAN JUAN -- FEU's Ken Tuffin and Adamson's Adrian Manlapaz are the side event winners in the FilOil Flying V All-Star Friday at the FilOil FlyingV Centre, as they got the titles in the Three-point shootout and slam-dunk contest, respectively
The lefty fend off thirteen more sharpshooters to clinch the title, scoring 20 in the final round after scoring 12 points in the opener.
Pio Longa of UP came in second with 16, barely getting into the finale via a money-ball tiebreaker where he got into a four-way logjam at 11 points with fellow competitors that included Jerrick Ahanmisi of Adamson and La Salle's Andrei Caracut.
NU's Miguel Oczon round out the top three with his 15 points. First round leader Sherwin Concepcion of UP floundered in the finale, scoring a measly 8 in the championship round.
Meanwhile, Manlapaz subdued the challenge of NU's Adama Faye, Rhenze Abando of UST and five others to take the dunk tilt.
A double-clutch reverse dunk by the incoming freshman sealed the trophy for Manlapaz, who scored 41 in the finale.
