#FilOil2019: San Beda inch closer to Group A sweep after blasting San Sebastian

SAN JUAN -- San Beda will go to the playoffs of the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup as the top seed overall after shackling San Sebastian, 71-59 to cap off the Monday schedule in the Seniors division at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

The Red Lions nearly blew a 19 point lead in the second half, but James Canlas hit timely shots to win for the six straight time and put on the cusp of a sweep in Group A on Friday when they take on UST.

Canlas led all scorers with 19 on a 67% shooting from the field, with Clint Doliguez backstopped the shooting guard with 16.

Aljohn Capobres had 16 for Baste who retained their second spot despite falling to 4-2 that put them into a tie with La Salle in whom they play on Friday to wrap up the eliminations.
