SAN JUAN -- Perpetual Help opened their campaign in Group B of the Juniors division of the FilOil FlyingV Preaseason Cup after taking down JRU, 74-67 Monday morning.

It was a wire-to-wire domination by the Junior Altas as they made a quick work of the Light Bombers, leading by as much as thirteen at the break in their win, while imposing their depth and size at will to begin their campaign on a bright note.

Perpetual had converted their 15 offensive rebounds into 16 second chance points, and dominated the battle of the boards, 50-40.

This despite their atrocious 6 of 26 from beyond the arc, that is a part of their 39% field goal shooting,

The Junior Altas' deep rotation enabled their their super-sub tandem of Emman Galman and John Escalante to make their mark, with the former leading all scorers with 20 points and added 8 rebounds, while the latter followed him with 15 markers on an even 50% clip from the field.

William Sy paced JRU with 19 points as Jonathan Medina got a double-double off the bench with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
