SAN JUAN -- Perpetual Help continued their surge in the Juniors division of the FilOil-FlyingV Preseason Cup, getting their first-ever win against La Salle Greenhills, 92-83 in the final game of the day Friday evening at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

With coach Frankie Lim in attendance, the younger Altas of head coach Mike Saguiguit caught the biggest fish in one of the most popular high school programs, winning his first game against the Greenies to go 2-0 in Group B.

Emman Galman waxed hot for Perps for 24 points in just 22 basketball minutes, shooting 57% from the field while grabbing 6 rebounds before fouling out late in the game with the game already settled.

Kyle Cuevas and Gelo Gelsano backed up Galman with 15 and 12, respectively

RC Calimag made a killing from the stripe, hitting 14/18 free throws to lead LSGH with 24 points of his own but it was not enough to prevent them from going 0-2.

Perpetual made use of its runs at the right time, first overtaking LSGH with a 15-4 run including eleven straight for a six-point advantage.

Shawn Orgo broke another deadlock, this time in the third, as his split from the line kick-started another 11-2 run to end the third with a 9-point lead.

LSGH came knocking again at the Jr. Altas door, with another trip to the line by Calimag put them level for the final time at 75-all with 4:21 remaining.

But Perpetual slammed it shut the rest of the way to claim a monumental win, finishing it with a crippling 17-4 run, with Galman putting the nail in the coffin with a booming triple with 1:08 left after getting a chase down block on Lennox Valenzuela twenty seconds ago.
