#FilOil2019: NU sweeps Group B after smothering UST in elims finale

SAN JUAN -- NU stomped UST with a 105-83 rout to sweep Group B of the Juniors division of the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup Friday evening at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

Playing without Batang Gilas stalwart Gerry Abadiano, the Bullpups made a mincemeat on the Tiger Cubs with their straightforward win, their fifth in a row to formally take the top spot in their group.

With that, they will take on Lyceum in the crossover semifinals on Friday.

Carl Tamayo and Kevin Quiambao lead the defending UAAP champions with 18 and 13 points respectively, as the latter hauled down 12 boards for a double-double.

Sans Bismark Lina, UST were overran by the deeper and more relentless NU, but Janjan Salazar had 23 points for the Tiger Cubs who wrapped up their stint in FilOil at 2-3.
