SAN JUAN -- National U moved to .500 in the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup, after taking down JRU, 79-67 in the penultimate Tuesday game at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.
Jamike Jarin's Bulldogs bounced back from Thursday's upset loss to EAC with a masterclass in balanced scoring, with all but two of them that he fielded scored at least a point to go 2-2 in Group B.
Dave Ildefonso led NU with 12 points, all of them in the first half as he only missed a shot in the second half after coming out perfect in the first 20 minutes.
Robert Minerva provided the spark off the bench with 11 points and 8 rebounds.
NU pulled away in the third after only leading by nine in the break, putting cold water into the Heavy Bombers' gunpowder supply by limiting them to just 9 points while leading by 20.
The lead even grew to 24, 73-49 in the payoff period, courtesy of a Marc Diputado lay-up to seal their win.
Darius Estrella led all scorers with 14 for the now 0-3 JRU.
