#FilOil2019: Lyceum storms back to deal Letran first loss

SAN JUAN -- Lyceum overcame a first-half deficit to deal Letran it's first loss in the 13th FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup after coming out of the shootout, 101-95 at the FilOil FlyingV Centre Friday afternoon.

In a battle between two undefeated sides, Topex Robinson's Pirates are down by thirteen early in the third quarter tuning up another knot to down the Knights and become the last unbeaten team in Group B with their 3-0 record.

Reymar Caduyac exploded for 18 points, 10 of which came in the final frame to add up to Mike Harry Nzeusseu's double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, with both of them coming off the bench.

It was a Fran Yu triple with 9:35 in the third that pushed their lead to 13 for Letran, 61-48, before LPU turned up the heat with a 23-7 reply to lead by three heading into the final frame.

Lyceum were even trailing in the final two minutes as they finished it with an 11-5 run, incuding an emphatic three point play by Nzeusseu with nine seconds left.

Allen Mina exploded for 30 off the bench but it was the fouls that haunted Letran late in the game, with Larry Muyang and Amrey Guarino both fouled out as Nzeusseu's too much to bear for the now 3-1 Knights.
