SAN JUAN -- In the dying seconds of the game, Lyceum snatched the win away from Adamson to go 2-0 in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup at the FilOil-FlyingV Centre Friday afternoon.

Down by five with just 21.9 ticks remaining, the Pirates scored the game’s last six points for back-to-back wins to go on top of Group B.

Jaycee Marcelino finished with 19 points off the bench, with Mike Harry Nzeusseu followed with  14 as the dynamic duo each pulled down 7 boards.

After a close first half which ended evens, Adamson got their second wind in the third with a 16-0 run that gave them a 12-point lead entering the final period.

However, LPU replied with a 17-5 starting run to level things up at 68, setting up a wild finale in the last five minutes.

Simon Camacho then sunk a pair from the line to give them an 81-76 lead with 1:06 remaining, but that turned out their last points in the game as Adamson wilted under the immense trapping pressure from the Pirates.

Marcelino instigated the rally by splitting his charities, but his twin Jayvee tapped it to him to set up to Niño Ibañez who hit a corner triple, and then forced a held ball situation on JM Sabandal to set up their game-winning play.

Jaycee then won it by sidestepping the Adamson defense and hoisted the contested layup over Lenda Douanga with 3.4 seconds left, and Reymar Caduyac intercepted Camacho’s pass to Sabandal on the final possession to seal their comeback.
