#FilOil2019: Lyceum books top spot in Group B after nailbiter over NU

SAN JUAN -- Lyceum bagged the top seed in Group B at the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup after surviving a nailbiter over a game NU side, 71-68 as the Seniors division action goes into the homestretch last Monday afternoon at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

The Pirates endured a close encounter to eliminate the Bulldogs from playoff contention, while capping off their preliminaries with a 6-1 record.

Jaycee Marcelino and former NU cager Ralph Tansingco each had 11 points off the bench to lead Lyceum, with their pesky defense produced 26 points off 30 Bulldog turnovers.

Miguel Oczon paced the UAAP outfit with 14 points to lead all scorers but it was not enough for them to avoid losing for the third time in five games.
