SAN JUAN -- Franz Pumaren was having fun, and a little more.
The Adamson mentor barely had time coaching as he let his UAAP All-Stars play their way until edging their NCAA counterparts last May 31 at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.
"It's fun coaching in an all star game," Pumaren said after their 86-83 win. "All you have to do is look to your left, pick anyone and for sure they will contribute one way or another."
He added that their team had much more motivation heading into the midseason showcase, apart from the absence of the UP duo of Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero due to injuries.
"They really play not only for the crowd, but also to get the win," he then said. "It's the bragging rights of the UAAP players over the NCAA players."
With most of his squad newcomers to the All-Star spectacle, they did not take the game lightly. Pumaren stressed the fact it was a big deal for most of them.
"They prove themselves that they deserved to be in the All-Star [game]." Pumaren concluded
