SAN JUAN -- Monday morning saw a doubleheader to open proceedings in the Juniors Division of the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup at the Arena, with FEU prevailing over La Salle Greenhills in a battle of the two high school powerhouses, 83-76.
The Baby Tamaraws optimized their depth and size to pull away against the Greenies, as they converted 23 offensive rebounds to 27 second chance points. FEU were also the more efficient side from beyond the arc, as they took 10 less shots than their opponent after they both hit 8 triples in the game.
Guard Kyle Bautista led the Baby Tams with 21 points on a 50% field-goal shooting, including five treys while Cholo Añonuevo had a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.
