#FilOil2019: Barba muscles his way as Lyceum sent Mapua further down

SAN JUAN -- John Barba once again lifted Lyceum to another win, this time taking down reigning NCAA Jrs. champion Mapua-Malayan, 83-74 to cap off the high school schedule of the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup Thursday evening at the FilOil Flying Centre.


Barba led the Jr. Pirates again with yet another double-double, tallying 15 points and 10 rebounds in a more balanced display on the wards of coach Tonton Sangco, as they moved on top of the Group A by winning their third game in a row


Former Batang Gilas stalwart McLaude Guadaña followed Barba with 14 points in a wire-to-wire domination by Lyceum.


Jonnel Policarpo led Mapua with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in a improved effort but it was not enough for the rebuilding Red Robins to sink down further at 0-2.
