#FilOil2019: Balanza sizzles as Letran defuse JRU

SAN JUAN -- In the other Group B game at the Seniors division of the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup, Letran rained on Louie Gonzalez's JRU debut as the Knights defused the Heavy Bombers in a one-sided encounter 78-67.

Letran never gave JRU a foothold in a wire-to-wire win, with the eleven-point margin not a clear indication on how Bonnie Tan's team dominated the proceedings which was punctuated by their 38% field-goal shooting.

Two months after his return to the court, Jerrick Balanza leads by Example for Letran as he fired for 25 points to lead all scorers along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

Renato Ular followed suit with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds as the Knights looked to improve their quarterfinal showing last season.

Incoming freshman John Louise Delos Santos had 16 off the bench for the former La Salle mentor in a losing effort for JRU.
