#FilOil2019: Adamson bucks late Benilde outburst to return to winning ways

SAN JUAN -- Four days after losing a heartbreaker to Lyceum, Adamson returned to its predatory ways, subduing St. Benilde with a 82-75 win to improve its record in Group B of the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup Tuesday afternoon.

Franz Pumaren's Soaring Falcons nearly blew a fifteen point lead in the third quarter and were engaging in a slugfest with the Blazers in the payoff period before pulling away to improve its record to 2-1 for a provisional second place in their group, a game behind undeafeated Letran.

Lenda Douanga wreaked havoc in the paint, with the Adamson slotman posted a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead all playes, with Jerrick Ahanmisi paced him with 17 points on an efficient 60% from the field.

Jerom Lastimosa had 16 off the bench for the squad from the UAAP, as they nearly blew a 15 point lead in the early in the third, 44-29 on a jumper by Ahanmisi, but they had to come from behind a bit, when CSB grabbed the lead on an 5-0 run to star the payoff period. 

A 9-0 reply was all Adamson need to break the Blazers' hearts once again, courtesy of Lastimosa's two triples in beween Douanga's three-point play, with Simon Camacho had two crucial blocks to preserve the win.

Unique Naboa had 12 for Benilde, who fell to 0-2 and at the bottom of the group alongside FEU.
