SAN JUAN -- Adamson showed no mercy on San Sebastian, to book their return to the semifinals of the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup with an 81-61 beatdown to open the playoffs Monday morning at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

Franz Pumaren's Soaring Falcons bucked a slow start to end a nine-year wait to make the last four of the preseason spectacle, which happened in 2010 when Leo Austria led them to third, their best showing in the tourney.

Lenda Douanga piled a game-high double-double, leading all players with 17 points and 15 rebounds with Jerom Lastimosa added 14 off the bench for the Group B second seed.

Jessie Sumoda and Alex Desoyo each had 12 for the Golden Stags who bade farewell to the tournament with back-to-back losses to wrap up their campaign, with RK Ilagan held scoreless after playing with a nagging injury.
