SAN JUAN -- Letran also booked its place in the FilOil FlyingV Preseason Cup playoffs after trouncing also-ran St. Benilde with a 74-62 decision in the penultimate game of the Monday Seniors action at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.
The Knights did not need skipper Jerrick Balanza and big man Larry Muyang in this affair between two NCAA teams as they finished off the Blazers by limiting them to just 12 points in the opening frame, setting the tone for the near-flawless performance of Bonnie Tan's men which ended their Group B campaign with a 5-2 record.
Renato Ular headline Letran with a game-high double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds as Letran prevailed despite only shooting 11% from downtown.
Their defence forced Benilde to turn the ball over 23 times in which they converted it to 24 points.
Justin Gutang was the lone Blazer in double figures with 14 as they wrap up their campaign at 1-6.
