FILOIL FLYING V PRE-SEASON CUP KICKS OFF

Filoil Flying V Pre-season Cup, the premier pre-season Collegiate and High School basketball tournament in the country kicks off its 2019 season as they held their annual team orientation at the Filoil Flying V Center. Set to see action are teams from the UAAP and NCAA headed by perennial champion San Beda Red Lions. Noticeably absent from the roster of teams is the Ateneo Blue Eagles who begged off from the tournament to concentrate on their upcoming Jones Cup campaign. 

League Commissioner Ato Badolato announced that the seniors teams will be bracketed into 2 groups with Group A having the Arellano Chief, De La Salle Green Archers, JRU Heavy Bombers, Perpetual Altas, last years runner-up San Beda Red Lions, San Sebastian Golden Stags, UST Growling Tigers and the UP Fighting Maroons, who incidentally will parade a line up that will be beefed up by Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero. 

Group B will see the Adamson Soaring Falcons, College of St. Benilde Blazers, EAC Generals, FEU Tamaraws, Letran Knights, Mapua Cardinals, NU Bulldogs and the Lyceum Pirates who lost a lot of their key starters to the pros. CJ Perez will be one the stars of the Pirates that Coach Topex Robinson will replace. 

As an added spice to the tournament, an NCAA versus UAAP All-Star game will be held apart from the 11 under Division. 

Pinoyliga will support the league as its Digital Stats partner. Catch the games live starting May 5.
