#FIBAOQT: Gilas Women eliminated by South Korea

South Korea ended the aspirations of the Philippines at the FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Asian Tournament in Auckland, New Zealand with a 114-75 rout Saturday noon.

A huge first quarter was all the unbeaten Group A leaders need to shut the door on Gilas Women, with two-thirds of the squad scored in double figures in a clinical display against the Southeast Asian minnows to book one of the spots into the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Leeseul Kang lead the South Koreans with 16 points as they imposed their will from the opening tip despite Janine Pontejos' opening triple,  unleashing a crippling 22-0 run to virtually put the game away.

Their shooting was on fire that day, as Sokor shot 50.7% from the field including 21/46 from the rainbow territory while leading by as much as 45 with 90 seconds remaining.

Afril Bernardino topscored for the Filipinas with 19 points as Gilas Women fell to 0-2 in Group A.
