FIBA 3x3 U18: Gilas Pilipinas Women end campaign with QF loss to China

The Gilas Pilipinas Women fought gallantly before bowing to China, 21-12, in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Cup 2019 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The Philippine squad kept the game close until in the later moments when Zhouze He hit back-to-back two-pointers to take a 19-12 lead. Bei Liu ended the match with another two-pointer as the top-seed move on to the semifinals.

Despite the loss, the Gilas Women put on a respectable performance after reaching the knockout stage of the tournament. The team of Camille Clarin, Ella Fajardo, Karl Ann Pingol, and Angelica Surada.

The Philippines placed second in Pool C with a 3-1 record following victories over Mongolia, Netherlands, and Czech Republic with the wins against Netherlands and Czech Republic by just one point.

They advanced into the quarterfinals where they met China, the top-seed in the competition.
