To say that last week was a crazy week for college basketball in the country is an understatement as It saw one player leaving one UAAP member-school for another UAAP member-school.

Just a few days after the former University of Santo Tomas Growling Tiger, CJ Cansino completed his transfer to the University of the Philippines where he will be suiting up for the Fighting Maroons come Season 84 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), Cholo Anonuevoas received an athletic scholarship from the Tennessee State University (TSU)- a member school of the Division One in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. Anonuevo initially committed to play for the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws in the collegiate ranks and was even included in the SeaOil-backed FEU team that was supposed to compete in the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) D-League Aspirants' Cup.

For FEU and Coach Olsen Racela in particular, they made the assurance that the school will always be there for the former Baby Tamaraw who averaged nine points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in Season 82, adding "He (Anonuevo) has committed to FEU if he decides to come back" And while TSU is the first US college to offer a scholarship to Anonuevo, it won't be the last as Racela shared "From what I know, they (Anounevo) will wait for more offers and decide next year. I'm sure he'll get more offers there"

This development came in a month after the FEU high school standout left for the United States to train under East West Private (EWP). Incidentally, another Filipino-American prospect in Sage Tolentino has been offered an athletic scholarship from the same school as he is also training under EWP alongside Anonuevo, National Basketball Association (NBA) G-League-bound Kai Sotto, and Ateneo Blue Eaglet LeBron Lopez.

Considering the number of high school stars taking their talent elsewhere, one can only wonder: Who's next
