Factset out hustled Uber in the end game open up their campaign with a win, 65-58.

Shorthanded Factset showed their experience in the second half as they kicked off the Kings of the Court STR8 Corporate Recreational division with a victory over a rookie team Uber, 65-58 at the Upperdeck gym in Ortigas.

Rein Gaitan and Erwin Guevarras led a 9-0 spurt for the financial data company to increased their 43-31, into 50-31 edge midway in the third and cemented their largest margin of the game. 

Later in the fourth the duo made some crucial baskets, and kept the ball alive to keep the resilient car rental application at bay until the buzzer.

Gaitan had an all around game with 19 points, eight assist, five rebounds, and three steals, while Guevarras had 13 markers, three swipes and an empathic 19 rebounds, 9 off them were offensive boards.

Factset’ Jonathan Dela Cruz added 19 points and Emman Macario chipped in a double-double, 11 and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Terrence Teodisio found his range after seeing his team trailing as much as 17. Uber’s sharpshooter made four straight treys to cut the deficit to six in the third period, 53-47, and led all scorers with 28 points with 43% shooting inside the arc and 53% from rainbow arc. Rommel Mibalo added 14 and 11 for Uber.

After Mibalo’s putback at the 4:03 mark of the fourth period that trimmed the lead to five, 58-53, Gaitan’s completed the charities, and Dela Cruz’ basket off the steal stopped the bleeding for Factset and made it, 62-53 under the last two minutes.

A couple of empty possessions for both teams, but Guevarras timing on getting the offensive board kept Uber’s bigmen demoralized int the payoff period to seal the victory for his team.

The two teams shrugged off their rust immediately as they exchanges threes in the opening tip, Dela Cruz started the fire with a triple, then Teodisio came back with his own. Still, Factset established an early 14 point lead at the end of the first quarter 27-13.

Uber exploited Factset drought and started the second canto with 14 straight points directed by Jeromar Belen, who only scored four points but contributed with 11 rebounds, and they cut the lead to four, 29-25. 

Factset first basket in the second period was on 4:21 mark via three point bomb by Gaitan and another three by Dela Cruz to closed out the quarter with a ten to nothing run.
