Since Robert Bolick started winning with the San Beda Red Lions after a rather forgettable stint in Taft Avenue, that was when many began saying that he will be among the bright future of Philippine basketball. Bolick won three National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships along with one University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) championship in 2013 with the De La Salle Gren Archers. He was picked as the third pick in the 2018 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Draft by the NorthPort Batang Pier and was looking to go head-to-head against fellow NCAA alum, CJ Perez for last season's Rookie of the Year award until disaster ended what could have been an explosive rookie season for Bolick.

Robert Bolick sustained a season-ending Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury during last season's Governors' Cup where the Batang Pier couldn't just get over the hump against the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings in the semifinals. One could even say that had Bolick wasn't injured, the NorthPort-Ginebra series could have become more interesting then again, injuries are part of the game of basketball and as sad as it sounds, Robert Bolick's ACL injury hurt the Batang Pier's season in more ways than we can think of.

While many players who came back from ACL injuries have become extra careful in getting physical in games, Robert Bolick isn't going to slow down once he is healthy enough to lace his sneakers anew. In an interview, the NCAA scoring champion in 2018 has said that he is no longer feel any pain in his knee and that, he is targeting to suit up for Coach Pido Jarencio this October- that if the PBA is back by then as basketball is currently on hiatus due to the ongoing 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. While Bolick said that he feels good about no longer feeling any pain, he isn't rushing things on his part even though he has been cleared by the doctors to resume training with the team. Bolick pointed out that he just wants to return stronger than the Bolick prior to the injury. He also said that if the government hasn't placed the entire Luzon island under enhanced community quarantine, he would have been doing shooting drills by March.

There's no saying as to when the PBA will return but one thing is certain for now: Robert Bolick will return stronger than ever and will roar like the Red Lion he once was.
