With their quickness and timely baskets down the stretch, Elivon escaped a 79-70 victory over Don Bosco - Saturdays and got their second win in a row in the Kings of the Court STR8 | Inter Pick-up division, Sunday at the Upperdeck gym in Ortigas.

Elivon used their six to nothing spurt and increased their lead from 69-56 into 75-56, under the last three minutes of the final quarter.

Charles Forca started Elivon’s decisive run with his putback, then after an empty possession by Don Bosco, Jasper Castor capitalized by a quick two points and Jeg Abad’s offensive rebound capped off the rally that reached their largest margin at 19, in which they never look back.

An all-around performance was shown by Castor who tallied eight points alongside seven rebounds, and anchoring their defense with two steals and four blocks. His energy on both ends rewarded him the Player of the Game honors.

Nicko Abad led Elivon with 15 points and three steals, Forca finished with 11 and six, Art Adriano added 10 and five, while Jeg chipped in nine and five.

On the other hand, Don Bosco-Saturdays tried to mount a comeback, creating their own 10-2 run, including two triples, both from Eugene Angeles, one at 2:24 mark and the other is in the last 52.8 seconds in the pay-off period.

However, it's a little too late for them as it was a big mountain to climb with just seconds remaining on the clock.

Aaron Molo had a monster double-double with 23 points and 13 boards, Ian Ples added 18 and eight, Miro Manere had 12 and nine, while Angeles finished with seven and 13 rebounds.

Elivon had a hot start right after the tip, using their speed, they run as much as they could against their slow footed foe, ending the first period with the upperhand, 21-11.

The winning team switched to match-up zone to cover up some loopholes to their defense, and created some turnovers, but couldn’t turn it into points as Don Bosco adjusted in the second and get back on defense as quick as they could. Still, Elivon controlled the game going to halftime, 42-32.

In the third, Don Bosco went to their height advantage and pound the rock inside, resulted into fouls. Elivon reached the penalty situation under the last four minutes of the canto.

Thus, missed their opportunities from the stripe as they kept on missing the bonus shots, as a team they only made nine out of 27 attempts from the line, and found themselves down by 13 entering the final quarter, 63-50.
