ELIVON GOT THEIR FIRST WIN, TAMING THE FIERY BROTHERHOOD!

Elivon satisfied their crowd as they got their first win after taming the fiery LSBC-Brotherhood in the Kings of the Court | STR8 Inter Pick-up Division, 77-56, first of the triple header at The Upperdeck West gym in Ortigas. 

Nicko Abad led the former Knights division champs Elivon to pull away from the get go, making a series of pull up jumpers and lay-up coming off a steal that resulted to six to nothing run at end the first quarter to put them up by 14, 26-12.

The mighty mouse-like Abad rattled for 20 points while shooting scintillating 61% from the field, 66% inside the three point line and 50% outside.

Lethal scorer added 18 points, shooting 60%, and Art Adriano chipped in 13 markers, making half of his shot from the field. 

Meanwhile, Geno Anderson and the Brotherhood tried to turn things around in the second quarter, putting a necessary adjustment to slow down Abad, and made a run for themselves.

They managed to cut the deficit to nine before going to halftime, but it wasn’t enough as Elivon continued what they started and finished the game stronger. 

Anderson had 17 points and six rebounds, Mark Magelo added 13 and six, and Brandon Espiras mustard for 11 points, seven rebounds, and seven assist. 

Elivon’s defense make it difficult for their opponent to execute their half court offense in the second half.

Lacking of height, the winning team focused on their strength, their speed and quickness.

They pressure the ball every time they had a chance, resulted to 30 Brotherhood turnovers, in which some of them were converted into fastbreak points.

With their sticky defensive scheme, they started the quarter with an 11-0 barrage, and reached their largest margin at 20, 50-30 courtesy of Gentapa’s off the glass jumper, forcing to Brotherhood for an early timeout.

Brotherhood managed to cut the edge to 11 entering to the final frame, however Elivon still had a gas left on their tank, increasing their lead further and never look back.
