Davao Occidental forces rubber match for MPBL Datu Cup crown

Davao Occidental defeated San Juan, 77-66, last April 22 to force a do-or-die rubber match for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Billy Ray Robles had 22 points and 18 rebounds in a dominating effort for the Tigers in Game 4, sending the championship series into a deciding game on April 25 at the Rizal Memorial College Gymnasium in Davao City.

Mark Yee had 14 points and 9 rebounds as Joseph Terso and Emman Calo had 11 and 10 points respectively for Davao Occidental.

Orlan Wamar scored 19 points, and John Wilson chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds as San Juan was unable to secure the title on its home floor.
