Cone happy for another perfect attendance at Gilas practice

Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone is happy for another well-attended practice on Monday night at the Meralco Gym even with the hectic schedule of most of the members of the team.

All 15 members of the pool were present in Monday’s practice – the fourth of the squad in their preparation for the Southeast Asian Games. They attended even a day after a grueling weekend of basketball in the PBA where Ginebra and San Miguel were pitted against tough matches in Magnolia and Columbian respectively.

All six players from Ginebra in LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Greg Slaughter and Stanley Pringle were around as well as the three guys from San Miguel in June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross.

“We have great attendance today. I told the players I came here thinking that two or three guys wouldn't show up because that's kind of what the national team goes through. But we had all 15 guys today and we wanted to keep them coming. We're proud with all these guys who are showing up,” said Cone as quoted by various media outlets.

Cone’s wards will resume practice next week as the SEA Games draws near. The basketball competitions is set December 4-10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
