11 players led by Andray Blatche will fly to Spain tomorrow as Gilas Pilipinas heads into a training camp in preparation for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Aside from Blatche, also joining the training camp are Kiefer Ravena, Mark Barroca, CJ Perez, Robert Bolick, Paul Lee, Poy Erram, Japeth Aguilar, Matthew Wright, Gabe Norwood and Beau Belga.

Unable to make it to the camp are Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, June Mar Fajardo, and Christian Standhardinger due to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals between TNT and San Miguel.

Also not joining in the training camp are Marcio Lassiter, who sustained an injury during the Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals, and Raymond Almazan, whose Spanish visa was denied despite several appeals.

Stanley Pringle will also not make it due to an injury.

Jordan Clarkson, who was inserted by Gilas Pilipinas in the 19-man pool in the likelihood that he is eligible to play in the World Cup as a local, will also be not part of the training camp.

Gilas Pilipinas will have a series of games in Spain as part of the team’s preparation for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. They are expected to play a series of tune-up games against Spain and African teams during the training camp.
