With the ongoing 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic which forced the world of basketball to go on a hiatus, basketball fans are stuck at home with no basketball games to watch. While the National Basketball Association (NBA) has offered free access to some of the NBA's best games of the past through the NBA League Pass, the fact that this pandemic isn't ending anytime soon means that basketball won't be returning to normal any time soon. Fortunately, those who have Netflix subscriptions at home will have all the time to watch basketball-related documentaries on Netflix to keep one from getting eaten up by the Korean dramas.

First up is the 10-episode series called, "The Last Dance" which is slated to be first aired on April 19 and will be available on Netflix the next day.

The said documentary will tackle the legendary 1997-1998 Chicago Bulls team led by Michael Jordan in what was His Airness' final championship-winning season. In fact, the documentary had been in production ever since Jordan and company won their sixth NBA title in a span of eight seasons which is still remarkable even today. Originally, the series was slated to first air this June but given the fact that millions of basketball fans are currently stuck at home with no basketball to watch, the producers decided to release the series earlier. After all, even LeBron James said that he cannot wait for April 19 to come sooner. Talk about excitement coming from a guy who has been long compared to His Airness himself. That says something about the boredom that this hiatus has brought upon us all.

If you're a fan of the Toronto Raptors- especially during Vince Carter's years as a Raptor, you should check out "The Carter Effect" which was first released during the 2017 Toronto Film Festival and incidentally, it was produced by the digital video company owned by none other than LeBron James. It's basically a film that tackled how the Toronto Raptors rose from being a nobody in the NBA to a competitive team thanks to the arrival of Vince Carter. It showed how Canada turned from a hockey-dominated nation to a basketball-loving one. It was all because of Vince Carter's effect.

Now, some of you grew up watching and idolizing Allen Iverson but for some reason, "The Answer" is also among those NBA stars who have been misunderstood. In the film "Iverson" that was released in 2015, Zatella Beatty showed in the film just why Allen Iverson turned out to be a guarded and misrepresented individual. Beatty even pointed out that Allen Iverson was someone who was harder to reach than the president of the United States and that alone stays about the complexity of Iverson's misunderstood personality.

If you're someone who is into more drama, then "Basketball or Nothing" is the series for you. The first six-episode season was released last year and you can binge-watch it on Netflix. The series revolves around the lives of the members of the Chinle High School basketball team that is based on the Navajo Nation reservation in Arizona. Season two is currently on the works.

As you can see, Netflix has more to offer than those Korean dramas that included the one that has a Captain Ri on it. And fortunately for basketball fans like us, they also have movies and series to keep our basketball eyes fed.
