Alveo Sales gets second win as Centric IT Group - Team A falls down twice

Alveo Sales stepped on the gas in the fourth quarter as they relied on fastbreak attacks, led by April Manuel, to end Centric IT Group - Team A's aim for an upset win, 62-52, in the Corporate Recreational division of Kings of the Court / STR8 Philippines 2019 Invitiational at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center in Pasig.

Same as what they did against Factset, Alveo Sales shrugged off a dismal first half performance and turned things around in the last two quarters by taking the game into fast tempo.

Manuel showed an unmatched speed as he poured 10 fastbreak points in the fourth period and finished with the game-high of 15 points.

JC Abarrientos contributed solid numbers close to a double-double performance after collecting 16 markers, nine boards, and three assists. Marco Custodio put up a game-high of 17 points.

Both teams were not giving each other a chance to gain momentun in the opening frame after having a great exchance of baskets, until 5 drilled a three-pointer and layup that gave Centric IT Group - Team A the upperhand, 15-12.

Despite Alveo Sales' better start in the second frame, Centric IT Group - Team A still found a way to answer back in the latter part of the firat half and managed to stay on top by three, 29-26.

However, it became a different story in the second half as Alveo Sales finally found their groove in the offensive end with Abarrientos taking over in the third quarter by scoring 12 of his 16 points, while Manuel getting the job done in the final canto.

Hirohito Rivera knocked down four triples in his 15-point effort, Arman Taylo delivered his own 15 points, and Joseph Carlo Hermo added 12 markers, but those numbers were not enough to get the second win of Centric IT Group - Team A.
