AJ Edu arrives for Gilas Youth build-up for FIBA U19

AJ Edu has arrived in the country to join Gilas Pilipinas Youth in its preparations for the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup.

National youth coach Sandy Arespacochaga confirmed the development according to reports after arriving in the country last June 4.

Edu’s arrival came just in time as the Philippine youth team are now preparing for the competition set from June 29 to July 7.

Edu was coming off a stint with the Toledo Rockets in the Mid-American Conference, one of the conferences in the NCAA Division 1. Edu has already played for Gilas Pilipinas Youth in the 2017 FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Cup and the 2018 FIBA Under-18 Asian Championship.

Also expected to arrive in the country for the Gilas Pilipinas Youth preparation is Kai Sotto, who is currently in the United States as part of his preparations to play club ball in Europe.
