Six teams from the Visayas, eight teams from Mindanao to create employment opportunities and to promote sports tourism in the country. The Pilipinas Vis-Min Supercup begins their inaugural season in a few months with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.

Cebu City Councilor, former PBA player and Pilipinas Vis-Min Supercup Ambassador Donaldo “Dondon” Hontiveros is raring to get the season started with the same fervor as when he first played for the Cebu Gems in Metropolitan Basketball Association or MBA 23 years ago.

A big break and an abundance of opportunities await our brothers in the south who’ll get to strut their stuff and show basketball fans what Visayan and Mindanaoan basketball is all about.

COO Rocky Chan says they know and they’re aware of the challenges that lie ahead for the league’s maiden season. Both tournaments in the Visayas and Mindanao will be in a bubble so it’ll be interesting to see how the players will cope with not seeing their families for several weeks which will test their mental strength and toughness.
