After being away from the coaching scene for almost a decade, Coach Chot Reyes is making his much-awaited return to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) as the head coach of the TNT Tropang Giga- a franchise he steered to four PBA championships.

But for Reyes who also served as a national team head coach and is also working as an executive coach, that call to return was unexpected and that, a certain passion of his ultimately pushed him back into the local coaching scene.

Kick-Start Coffee Brewed Awakening aired the first episode of its second season on Monday with Migs Bustos talking to the 57-year old Chot Reyes about basketball and beyond. Reyes even revealed that when Manny V. Pangilinan popped the question as to whether or not the former wants to return into the fold for TNT, he asked for a few days to think before making a decision.

When Bustos asked about the thought process when Reyes accepted the top job at TNT, Reyes began, "First of all, obviously I have to seek the advice and thinking of my family. We kind of have settled into a very good rhythm now with life outside of professional basketball coaching,"

Reyes continued, "In the end, I've always believed in passion and purpose. I've always lived my life (based) on those two principles. As you know, my passion has always been coaching and building teams whether in sports or in the corporate world. My purpose with my executive coaching and business coaching practice is to help develop the next generation of Filipino leaders, and I feel that purpose can be served better and advanced more by being on the platform that PBA provides,"

While he admitted that the top job at the helm of the Tropang Giga involves pressure, stress, and risks, Reyes explained, "My question is this: does this fit right into my sweet spot of passion and purpose? And when the answer to the question is yes, I decided to go back into the hot seat,"
