DON BOSCO - EXILES WINS CROWN VIA BUZZER BEATER

Ernest Medina and the Don Bosco - Exile team provided an excellent ending to their Pinoyliga Cup campaign as they won over Xavier - Audi, 60 -58, via a shot of a lifetime buzzer beater by Medina through brought the packed Kerry Sports Arena crowd to theit feet.

It was a nip and tuck affair as expected in any championship game with both teams having the same heft. Alden Rifrnaca was again at the forefront of the Xavier - Audi attack as he ended with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Bene Coyuito and Hendrick Co ably supported Rifrnaca with 12 points each. For the champions, both Medina and Richard Ruben Garcia had 18 points.

The game, as it entered the last two minutes, had Xavier-Audi leading by 5 points, 57 - 52, but a 5 point run capped off by a Richard Garcia inside basket tied the game with 1:26. Xavier - Audi had plenty of chances to seal the game but an inside miss by Rifrnaca, a split by Hendrick Go from the stripe and a crucial lane violation set the stage for the Ernest Medina buzzer beater.
